She was married to James David Wilcox, November 26, 1854, by Elder Orson Hyde, at Salt Lake City. Her wedding present from her father was a yoke of oxen and a carpet loom.
From her daughter Margaret Ruth Wilcox Manning "Mother was raised in a polygamous family, and I have no doubt but that she gave her consent fully and freely for father to marry another woman. I have a distinct recollection of eating fried cakes that were a part of the wedding supper that mother had ready for father and his second wife when they returned from Salt Lake City on the evening of their marriage. I can testify in all sincerity that mother and Aunt Judith worked together like sisters, and in comparative poverty; weaving, spinning, knitting, washing, cooking, sewing, house-cleaning, and in case one of them was sick the other carried the whole load until the other was able to help."
