About Anne Bennett
notes
Richard Bennett, son of Thomas, is mentioned as "brother-in-law," in the will of Anthony Barham of Mulberry Island, 6th of Sept.,1641.
- Implication: she was old enough to be married by June 1642
- Further implication: she was Richard Bennett's FIRST wife and, probably, the mother of all his children.
- It all gets crazy-confusing due to confusion with the Richard Bennett who WAS the governor, and due to the loss of Isle of Wight's records during the Civil War.
- Take with a large helping of salt any direct reference into titled gentry.
Mentioned in grandmother's will, 1635-38.
Date of death 12-4-1709 on her grave
