Anna was born to Ole Gunnarsen and Kristi Torleifsdatter in Norway. Anna married Anders Jenssen Stageberg on July 17, 1857 in Norway. They had seven children. Anna came to America in 1876 with four children and settled in Seely township in Southern Minnesota where her husband had come first in 1875. Their 7th and last child, Mikkel was born here. Anna died in 1905. Her husband,Andrew Berg,lived out the rest of his life in Pettibone,North Dakota where he died and is buried.
