About Anne Constantia du Ligondès
Biography
Anne (Ligondès) Beresford was a member of aristocracy in the British Isles. Anne was born on 11 August 1738, and was baptized the following day in Saint-Bonnet-de-Rochefort. She was the daughter of Claude François du Ligondes and Antoinnette du Ligondes.[1]
Annette (or Anna, Anne) was the da. of Claude François du Ligondès , Sgr de Rochefort and Antoinette du Ligondès, da. of Michel du Ligondès d.1717 & Frances Fowler d.1723, widow of Theophilius Hastings, 7th Earl of Huntingdon.

Research Notes Debretts: "Anne-Constantia Ligondes, granddaughter of the count de Ligondes (a general in the French army who was taken prisoner at the battle of Blenheim,) by Frances, widow of Theophilus, 7th earl of Huntongdon, and da. and heiress of Frances-Levinson Fowler of Harnage Grange, co. Salop, esq."[1]
Her birth date of 1747 doesn't work with Frances death date of 1723.
Her aunt, Elizabeth Countess Moira, was the da. of Theophilius Hastings, 9th Earl of Huntingdon. There's something off in these histories...[2]
Geneanet has this pedigree: Her parents were Claude François du Ligondès , Sgr de Rochefort and Antoinette du Ligondès, Antoinette's parents were Michel du Ligondès d.1717 & Frances Fowler d.1723.
According to family legend, Michel du Ligondès was Comte de Ligondès of Auvergne, and a General in the French army who was captured at the Battle of Blenheim 1704 and held by the English. If you look at the order of battle for Blenheim, he's not listed as a General - there's a Regiment de Ligonday (sic), but that's a stretch. A famous conflict like this has many books written about it plus a weird marriage for Frances too.
Dictionnaire Généalogique, Héraldique, v.5 p. 441 says Michel was a Captain of in his brother John's regiment of cavalry, John was a prisoner after the battle of Hoschtet (aka Blenheim) and a colonel of the regiment. His father was a Brigadier of Cavalry & he d. in 1709 maybe that's where the General comes from (not sure about the Comte...)
