Anne Honeywood was baptised on August 06, 1609 in Charing, Kent, England. Her parents were Sir Robert Honywood of Charing and his wife Alice Barnham [1] "Anna was borne at Charing ye last of July, Monday, be- tweene 2 and 3 in the morning, 1609, my brother Stewart god- father, my lady Chute and my lady Buckle, my wives sisters, godmothers." [2]

On 19 June 1631, Anne Honywood married Thomas Fox Esq. at her family seat at Charing, Kent. [3] Thomas Fox was a grandson of John Foxe the martyrologist, who was a friend of Anne's pious grandmother Mary Honywood. Thomas died in 1652. [4]

DR. THOMAS FOXE.

Dr. Thomas Foxe, the eldest son of Dr. Samuel Foxe, was born at Havering Palace, Feb. 14, 1591. In due course he was sent to Magdalen College, Oxford, where he was procurator in 1621. The following year he was chosen bursar, and on June 25, 1623, was admitted a candidate of the college of Physicians.* He was again chosen bursar the next year. About this time he married Anne Honeywood, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Honeywood of Charing, in Kent, and Markshall, Essex. She was granddaughter of Mrs. Mary (Waters) Honeywood....


1548, May 26, my dear wife Ann Honywood (her maiden name and bom at Pett near Charing in Kent on Nov. 26, 1588) died at my cousin Ursula Warner her house in Bromley, whose body at ye time of ye rising in Kent, was carried to Charing and there buried.

He married Anne, daughter of Richard Honeywood of Charing, Kent, and Marleshall, Essex, and granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Honeywood, the pious friend of his grandfather, the martyrologist. By her he left a daughter Alice, who married Sir Richard Willys, baronet, Robert, Samuel's youngest son, was a captain in the navy, and died in 1646. He wrote to his elder brother an interesting letter descriptive of the trial of the Earl and Countess of Somerset.
