Patrick Barns-Graham has identified Anne Graham as the daughter of Patrick Graham of Lymekilns. According to him, she was born in August 1694 [Stirnet: Graham 06]

First Marriage

Anne Graham married Alexander Wardrop, mason and wright [Lanark Sasines, reference RS42/18/40]. They were married in Glasgow on 25 March 1714. Scottish Marriages The marriage record reads as follows: "Alexr Woodrop and Anne Graham both in this paroch, after orderly proclamation, and nothing objected to the contrary, were married at Glasgow, by Mr James Stirling, minr of the Barony" [National Records of Scotland, East Kilbride Marriages]

Second Marriage

According to Stirnet, Ann Graham married John Reid of Peillpark. [Stirnet: Graham 06] However, the Lanark sasine register confirms that Ann Graham married John Reid in Kirkton, formerly in Middlequarter [Lanark Sasines, reference RS42/14/37, RS42/14/445 and RS42/20/348] and that he was the father of John Reid in Peillpark. [Ibidem, reference RS42/16/230 and RS42/16/249]. The marriage of John Reid and Anne Graham was booked on 14 February 1729, at East Kilbride in Lanarkshire, Scotland. Scottish Marriages

Note: According to Stirnet, Ann Graham married James Wardrop rather than Alexander Graham. The register of baptisms for Barony parish does show that a man named James Wardrop and a lady named Ann Graham did have son named Alexander Wardrop who was born on 12 September 1756 Scottish Baptisms but the laird of Lymekilns's daughter would have been about sixty-two years of age on this date and it seems quite likely, therefore, that the wife of James Wardrop mentioned here is a different person.
