Anne King

Anna Payne Christian died 25 April 1787 in Goochland Co., VA. Her death was an accident. She was sitting on her bed talking with her sister Susanna Woodson Payne and Turner was sitting outside the house servicing his flint lock riffle when it accidentally went off, shooting though the weatherboarding of the house and killing Anna. I have the transcript of the "examination" in Court in Goochland Co. of Turner for feloniously murdering his wife. He was remanded for trial in the General Court in Richmond in Oct 1787 and acquitted.
