About Anne O’Brien

Anne was born around 1845. It is unknown currently how many siblings she actually had, one her brother Bartley (maybe Bartholomew), is listed as well as her mother Fanny as coming out to Australia in 1859 aboard the Sapphire.

It is said that on this voyage is where the 14 year old Anne met the 20 year old Charles O'Brien. A few years later in 1863, they married in East Maitland.

Anne couldn't read or write. She was employed as a domestic servant before her arrival to Australia, as was her mother.
