  • Born: ABT 1481
  • 'Notes: his wife had been previously married to Edmund Talbot, by whom she had a son, Sir Thomas Talbot (b. 1517 - d. 1558). Anne was neice of the well known Sir John Peach (b. 1473 - d. 1522) who was a close personal friend of Henry VIII and a well known jouster and soldier. Anne's brother, Sir Percival Hart (b. 1496 - d. 1580) was a Knight Harbinger and entertained Queen Elizabeth at his manor of Bark Hart near Orpington. He was also close to Henry VIII who stood godfather at his sons chrsitening. Sir James Stanley led a detachment of troops in the army of his nephew, Edward Stanley, 3º Earl of Derby, during the northern rebellion of 1536, as did Thomas Talbot (Anne's son by her first marriage), who was Sir James' ward. Anne died 1566, buried Blackburn Parish Church. Sir James Stanley's exact date of death is unknown. He was living as late as 1545 when he was steward of Burscough Priory.
