About Anne Susannah Horner
The loyalty of Margaret and Massimiliano was well repaid by the sisters. When Margaret Edmund’s husband Massimiliano Zileri himself died six years after his wife he was buried in the Allori cemetery outside Florence. The couple’s second child Anne Susie Zileri was left an orphan. This child became the ward of the Horner sisters (Susan & Joanna) and it is she who gave Susan’s Diary to the British Institute of Florence before her death in 1964.
