Annice Ruth Friedson Mendelsohn of Overland Park, KS, died peacefully in her sleep at home Saturday, December 27, 2008. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29th at Congregation Beth Torah, 6100 W. 127th St., Overland Park, KS. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Annice was a lifelong Kansas City resident. She worked for Eddie Jacobson in her early years before meeting the love of her life, Herbert Mendelsohn. Herbie and Annice celebrated their life together during 57 years of marriage. Annice will be remembered in her Royals jacket and hat, listening to her transistor radio at home games. She also enjoyed her friends, reading, bowling, golfing, shopping and playing cards. Annice took pride in her years of work on the Board at Shalom Geriatric. Annice was the devoted mother of three daughters: Roberta (Rick) Intrater, Sharon (Jeff) Altman and Barbara Mendelsohn. She will also be missed by her adoring grandchildren: Brandon, John and Evan Intrater and Tracy and Brian Altman. The family would like to thank the Heart of America chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, American Companion Care, Kansas City Hospice, and especially Annice's primary caregiver Alice "Neicy" Williams. In lieu of flowers the family appreciates donations to the Congregation Beth Torah Fund for Families in Need or the Alzheimer's Association, Heart of America chapter.
