Aunt Annie was the family artist. I have a portrait of me at 2yrs that she painted ca. 1946-7. She last lived in a hotel on 55th St in NYC right across the street from St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She would let me use her artist paints to create my own impressions. She willed me the money to attend Camp Sequoia (Weaverville, N.C.). I always enjoyed visiting her at the Flinn summer rental on Conanicut Island, Jamestown, R.I. She traveled to France in 1915 to be with her husband who was a surgeon practicing in early WWI France and Italy. She was working at an ambulance facility in the war zone. Born and educated in Montgomery, Alabama. Married Dr. Wesley Earl Drennen, MD whom she subsequently divorced. Travelled to Europe in 1915 with her husband to volunteer with the Italian Armed Forces in the early part of WWI. She was an avid painter who loved still-life and some portraiture. She lived for years in a hotel on West 53rd St., in New York, across the street from the Saint Thomas Episcopal Church.
