About Annie Ganz
Family stories suggest she was a "loan-shark" for the lower east side, and may have been a business partner of her brother-in-law Joseph Lewis. She had 9 children, of which 5 survived to old age. A pair of twin boys died in child-birth, and two other sons (Sam and Harry) died of mastoiditis at a very young age. At a later point, the family arranged to have her niece Yetta (Nettie) Brander come over to the states where she eventually married Isadore Felixbrod and had three children.
