"Lehmann was noted for Philanthropy. She was a civic leader, philanthropist and Republican Party contributor. She made major financial contributions to Washington University, the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Missouri Historical Society, the St. Louis Art Museum, Barnes Hospital, the St. Louis Zoo, Independence Center and the psychiatric rehabilitation center in St. Louis. Lehmann contributed for four decades to Republican Party candidates at the national and state level. She was among the Globe Democrat Women of Achievement, receiving an award for creative philanthropy. She was known to all as a good friend."
