About Annie Leonora Townsend (Rowcroft) : She was christened on October 7 1871 in Mussoorie, Dehradun District, Uttarakhand, Delhi, India . This was a hill station high up in the hills north of Delhi & a place to which Europeans escaped during the oppressive heat & rain of the Summer. Both George Harold Townsend & Annie L Townsend lived till their nineties. Both were buried in St Peter's Anglican Churchyard & their details are inscribed on the gravestone.
