Following the death of her brother Joseph, and prior to the emigration of his widow to the USA, Annie and Michael Kearns became guardians of Joseph’s daughter Veronica (Vera) Coffey, and later purchased 83 Aughrim Street, the property adjoining their own home, for her and knocked-through connecting doors.
She lived with her husband Michael Kearns at 82 Aughrim Street, the property purchased by her father William Coffey in 1887. Following the death of Michael Kearns she operated the Kearns pawnbroking business st 69 Queen Street.
