Émile Dupard (also spelled Dupart) was a free man of color and blacksmith who appeared in Natchitoches Parish in 1824. He was the son of Victoire Mulon, a free woman of color from New Orleans, and brother of Marie Arthemise Dupart, wife to François Metoyer (1784-1862). In 1829, he married Marie Rose Cephalide Balthazar, a free woman of color born to Jean Baptiste Balthazar-Monet and Marie Rose Metoyer (daughter of Louis Metoyer, 1770-1832). At the time of Marie Rose Balthazar's death by 1842, their children were listed as Elisa (born 1826), Victor, Claire, Arthémise, Eugénie (born 1838), Thairése, and Nestor.</br></br>Joseph Metoyer, Jr. was a free man of color, blacksmith, slave owner, and native of Natchitoches Parish. He was born in 1807 to Antoine Joseph Metoyer (1778-1838), described as a mulatto, and Marie Pelagie LeCourt (born 1783), a described as a quadroon. In 1840, he married Marie Lodoïska Llorens, a free woman of color from Natchitoches Parish who was born in 1822 to Manuel Llorens (born 1797) and Marie Arsene Anty, both free people of color.</br></br>Philippe Valsain Dupré was a free man of color and carpenter born in 1805 to Joseph Dupré, a white plantation owner, and Marie Adelaide Mariotte, a free woman of color and granddaughter of Marie Thérèze Coincoin (1742-1816?). In 1824, he married Marie Doralize Derbanne, a free woman of color. Together the couple had at least one daughter, Marie Dénége Lisida.
