About Antoine Salomon Maillet
Antoine-Solomon was one of the two children of Jacques Maillet who was not dispersed from Canada. He settled in Trahan Village, at Grand-Pre, following his marriage about 1746 to Marie Saulnier, daughter of Rene Saulnier and Marie-Josephe Trahan. He married a second time to: Marguerite Blanchard: members of this second family settled in Richibouctou, Kent County, N. Antoin-Solomon's godparents were Jacques Maillet and Magdelaine Herbert. Antoine Salomon has 10 children. He settled in Minas Basin and at Trahan, Grand-Pre when he married is first wife, Marie Saulnier about 1751. He was deported in 1755 but returned around 1768 to Nova Scotia with his second wife, Marguarite Blanchard, and settled at Baie-Ste-Marie where in 1775 he received a grant of 36 acres in the Township of Clare.
