Belina Anton M Biography Bk-History of Rice & Steele Cos Vol I & II 1910. Anton M Belina b in Owatonna Twp, Steele Co, Jan 22 1876, son of Anton & Frances (Pavek) Belina, natives of Bohemia. They emigrated to US in 1855 locating on farm in Owatonna Twp, where they engaged in general & diversified farming, father following this occupation up to time of his decease, Feb 25 1887. Mother survives him & still resides on old homestead. Subject of this sketch rec'd his early education in district schools of Owatonna Twp, which was followed by course in public schools of Owatonna. While attending public schools in Owatonna, he also learned tinner's trade. In 1895, he entered Carlton College & took general course aft which he became salesman for Black Mfg Co of Erie, PA. This he followed for 2 yrs. He then entered into sporting goods business at Owatonna, where he is now located. He keeps full line of everything carried in up-to-date store of this kind, & in connection w/this business, he also conducts leading automobile garage of city. Mr Belina m Jun 11 1901, at Owatonna, Mary S, dtr of Mr & Mrs Andrew Erdmann (deceased). Dtr & son have blessed their union, viz, Geraldine Evelyn b Jan 23 1904, & Kenneth A b Sep 25 1905. Geraldine Evelyn d Jun 23 1904, when 6 mo of age. Mr Belina is self-made man. He has gained his position by hard work & determined effort. He is good citizen & generous neighbor. In political sentiment, he is Democrat. Family adheres to Lutheran Church. He is also prominent in fraternal circles, belonging to K of P, EFU, & AOA. Mr & Mrs Belina live in pleasant residence on Franklin Av.
