A I Baker, aged 77 years, former poor director, prominent resident of Hickory Township and active Republican, died yesterday at 5 p m in his home, 1485 East State Street, following a several month's illness with a complication of diseases.

Mr. Baker had been ailing for several months and three weeks ago last Friday underwent an operation.

He was born in Sharon on March 21, 1846, the son of Elijah and Elizabeth (Titus) Baker. He resided in this vicinity practically all his life. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and belonged to the I O O F. He was a past grand of the Odd Fellows order.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Charles Baker of Farrell, Samuel and Archie Baker, both of Sharon; two daughters, Mrs. Scott Mayberry and Miss Florence Baker, both of Sharon; three sisters, Mrs. Mary E Hannah and Mrs. Ida Winner, both of Sharon, and Mrs. Emma French of Sharpsville. Eight grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p m from the home, near Trout's Corners, with Rev R Harlan McCartney and Rev. Wesley Brown, the latter of Youngstown, officiating.
