About Archibald Douglas, Parson of Glasgow
Extract from An Historical Account of the Senators of the College of Justice of Scotland, by Sir David Dalrymple of Hailes, Bt., re-edited at Edinburgh in 1849, p. 125.
Younger brother of William Douglas of Whittingham, and grandson of John, second Earl of Morton. He appears to have been educated for the church, and had obtained the parsonage of Douglas prior to the 13th November 1565, when he was appointed an Extraordinary Lord in place of Adam Bothwell, Bishop of Orkney, promoted to an ordinary seat.
