About Archibald B. McMillan
From the Cape Fear Clans website: b 26 June 1823 d March 1900 (Philadelphus Church Records show date of death 24 Feb 1900. -DE) (Son of 'Big John' McMillan and Margaret McNeill. 'Big John' was son of Archibald McMillan and Polly McArthur, and grandson of immigrant John McMillan and Margaret McNeill. Archibald’s mother, Margaret McNeill, wife of 'Big John', was a daughter of James McNeill, Esq. of Canada and his second wife Elizabeth McNeill. Elizabeth was a sister of 'Archie Ghar' and 'Fiddler Hector' McNeill, children of Jane Campbell and William McNeill of Scotland. James McNeill, Esq. of Canada was a justice in the Robeson County court system for decades, and had many children by three wives, until he removed with his fourth wife to Alachua County, Florida sometime after 1833. He died there in 1845.
