He was a Freemason, having been raised in Albion Lodge #5, New Glasgow, N.S. 28Jun1912, affiliating with Mount Vernon Lodge in Malden, MA 01Mar1917, and was a member of the Aleppo Temple of the Mystic Shrine in Boston; he was also a member of both the Middlesex (MA) Lodge of Odd Fellows and Syracuse (NY) Lodge of Elks.
He was a machinery salesman in the Springfield (MA) area for the Robertson Tool & Die Company for the eight years preceding his death; he was previously employed for many years in the Portland (ME) territory as a salesman for the Shredded Wheat Company. He was living at 18 Pitcher Ave, Medford, MA, at the time of his death. He served on the Submarine Chaser 218 in WW I in the Azores, having attended Malden (MA) High School.
