About Arnold William Melby
Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - November 1, 1990. Deceased Name: DEATH: ARNOLD WILLIAM MELBY. Arnold William Melby, 90, of Salt Lake City, died October 28, 1990. He was born September 25, 1900 in Winoma, Minnesota to Gilbert Oscar and Anna Melby. He married Ruth Clarkson on July 22, 1922 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died September 9, 1985. He had worked for many years for the Union Pacific Railroad and was an active member of the LDS Church.
He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Natalie and Bob Jenson, Vancouver, B.C.; two sons and their wives, Bill and Eda Melby, Bountiful; Utah and Ken and Cheryl Melby, Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be Friday, November 2, 1990 at 12 noon at the Mt. Olympus Eighth Ward, 4176 Adonis Drive (3725 East), where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Mackay Holladay Memorial Park.
