Arrie Hightower was born a twin October 24, 1904 (a) in Paris, Lamar County, Texas, daughter of James Bailey Hightower and Effie (Harris) Hightower. She is twin sister to brother, Carrie, the sister of Leo (1902) and later, Virginia Louise (1909) Hightower. Also, she had twin uncles, Arthur and Oscar, brothers of her father.

On December 7, 1924, she married Walter S. Helm in Ellis County, Texas. Walter and Arrie Helm had 3 sons; Milton Carroll (1927), Lynn (1930) and Martin (1932) Helm. Husband, Walter, preceded her in death. She married again to Grover Cleveland Kelley. He died in 1967.

On June 6, 1989, Arrie (Hightower) Helm Kelley, age 85, died in Waxahachie with burial in Waxahachie City Cemetery (a), Addition 5-10-5; Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas.
