About Arthur Vintcent Crossley Bisset
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1942-23596-24-87
Arthur was an accomplished cricketer and lawyer. He trained as an advocate but chose to practice as a lawyer. He was a brilliant fisherman, and people said he charmed the fish put of the water. When we lived in Quarterdeck Road in Kalk Bay he would come home from work on the train and go fishing off the rocks, surprising other fishermen who had been there longer with his catches. Prof Smith, who identified the coelacanth and wrote the book on the sea fishes of South Africa, incribed the book to him with 'To a brilliant fisherman'. Every year he took part in a cricket match called Gentlemen versus The Rest. He was elected captain of WP Cricket and each year he said it was time he stood down to let someone else take the helm, but was reelected for 19 consecutive years.
