Arthur Hirsch was born on 16.03.1886 in Tübingen, the son of Gustav and Frieda Hirsch. He did a business education. At the beginning of World War I, Arthur was just 32 years old, and his younger brother Siegfried, who was born in Künzelsau, was 11 years old.

He married Hermione on 19.04.1919 Singer from Hechingen, b. 02/10/1893. They moved to Stuttgart and founded despite the difficult post-war years, inflation and the economic crisis a family. Her two sons were born in Stuttgart: Erwin * 1.07.1920 and Gerhard * 30.03.1926. Arthur worked first at the Hirsch company, Mayer u. The order situation worsened, and 1932 was the legal takeover of the business by his wife Hermione. - Practically Arthur continued the business.

The seizure of power by the Nazis in 1933 brought the family into material ruin. Over the next six years, it went downhill. Arthur and Hermione lived in a so-called "privileged mixed marriage". Hermione was of Aryan descent - nevertheless, 1938 was a fateful year: "business task for reasons of persecution", deletion in the commercial register by Hermine. Son Erwin managed to escape to the United States at the age of 18; he found a new home near Chicago.
