OBERMAYER, Dr. Arthur S. Of Dedham, formerly of West Newton, on January 10, 2016. For 52 years, he was the beloved husband of Dr. Judith (Hirschfield) Obermayer. Loving father of Hank Obermayer of Oakland, CA, Joel & Lani Obermayer of Arlington and Marjorie & Jeff Raven of Durham, NH. Adored grandfather of Noah, Zachary, Amanda, Marisa, and Lola. Dear brother of Herman "Obe" Obermayer of Arlington, VA. Funeral services are private. Memorial observance at his late Dedham residence on Thursday, January 14 from 2-4 & 7-9pm, Friday, January 15 from 2-4pm and Sunday, January 17 from 2-5pm. A memorial celebration of Dr. Obermayer's life will be held at Temple Shalom of Newton, 175 Temple Street, Newton, on Sunday, February 28 at 2:00pm with a reception at Temple Shalom immediately following the celebration. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to WBUR Public Radio and the Martha's Vineyard Hebrew Center.
