Drowned July 14, 1849. He drowned in the old Morrison mill pond (8 miles southeast of Corinth, Mississippi). He was swimming with a group of people and took the cramps. He was considered a good swimmer, and others present thought he was just playing around when he called for help. The Morrison mill pond belonged to Marguerite Adams (husband's grandpa who was old Robert Morrison).
