An inquest was held before Justice Fisher.

When the empty car struck the full car the deceased fell off the car and was jamımed between the car and the timbers. There was plenty of light so we could see. There were electric lights, also lanterns.”

Verdict of the jury: “We, the jury, upon our oaths do say that the said Arturo Guisto came to his death on the 5th day of June, A. D. 1900, by accidentally falling between the car and the timbers of the rock house at the Franklin mine. We attach no blame to anyone."
