OBITUARY:
Arvelia Jane Wilson, 108, died February 25, [1979] at Jerseyville Care Center, 12 days after achieving 108 years. Born February 13, 1871 in Nebo, she was a daughter of the late William & Lavina (Barkley) Hirst. Her husband, William Silas Wilson, died in 1942. She is survived by 2 daughters, Marie Freesmeyer, Jerseyville and Geneva Bell, Benton, KY; 3 sons, J Morritt Wilson, Pleasant Hill, William Otto Wilson, Jerseyville and Percy Wilson, Inglewood, Ca; 20 grandchildren, 58 g-grandchildren; 21 g-g-grandchildren; 1 sister, Mary Corbett, Alton and 1 brother, Carroll Hirst, Kampsville. Visitation from Hanks Funeral Home in Hardin. Services were conducted at Indian Creek Church of Christ by Rev Goyd Goodson and Rev Wilson Ramsey. Burial was in Indian Creek Cemetery.
