Asa was the son of Lieut. John & Sarah (Bigelow) Bigelow
He married Dorothy Otis 13 Dec 1737 - parents of Asa, Jonathan, Dorothy, Sarah, Otis, Betty, Delight, a second Betty and a second Asa. 3 Apr 1770 his estate was divided between sons Jonathan, Otis & Asa & daughters Sarah & Betty

He is buried at Colchester Burying Ground, Colchester, New London, CT
