Asa Brown

Asa, Elisha, David, & James BROWN--Mass/Kentucky/Clinton Co, OH trish9253 (View posts) Posted: 1 Apr 2006 8:11PM GMT Classification: Query Surnames: Brown, Gibson, Mann, Wallace, Moon, Hunt I am trying to sort out the children of these four brothers.

Asa (b. c 1778; d. 1843), Elisha (b.?; d.1856), David (b. c 1771; d. 1844) and James (b. c 1787; d. 1863) BROWN were born probably in Mass, moved to Kentucky as children, and then to Clinton County, Ohio as young adults. According to the early census, they all had fairly large families. By 1850, when the census started listing names, the children were grown and on their own, and there are a number of Brown families in Clinton County. I am trying to figure out which children belong to which brother and which families are part of another Brown clan.

So far I have identified the following as children of Asa, and I am sure there are more: Mary, b. 1806, m. William WALKER Harrison, b. 1809, d. 1867, m. Mary MANN Alexander, b. 1813, d. 1885, m. Malinda MANN Anna, b. 1826, m. John BARNES

I haven't so far definately identified children of the other three men.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, any information on the parents of the four brothers.
