Asa KELLOGG was the son of Ruth ROOT and Silas KELLOGG.

He was a Revolutionary War soldier, rank of sergeant, at the age of 32 in the regiment of Col. John Brown, serving for 30 days from 29 June 1777 until 28 July 1777.

On 27 Feb 1766 he married Lucy POWELL in Sheffield, MA.
