Rita Gagnon 1921-2011At the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor), February 18, 2011, Mrs. Rita Gagnon of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 89 years. She was the wife of the late Aurele Gagnon. Born at Saint-Andre in 1921, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Emma (Berube) St-Amand.She is survived by seven children, Gilles-Marie (Marie-Ange) of Saint-Léonard-Parent, Hermile (Marie-France Racine) of Campbellton, Mariette Gagnon (Vincent Ouellet), René (Raymonde), Yvon (Mona) and Réjean (Suzy) of Saint-André and Rose-Marie Peters of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother, Guy (Gisèle) of Saint-Hubert, Quebec, five sisters, Sister Lorraine St-Amand, f.m.a. of Campbellton, Antoinette LaFrance of Grand Falls, Aline Gagnon and Fernande Levesque of Tonawanda, New York and Juliette Rioux of Saint-Andre, as well as nieces and nephews. Her funeral service was held Monday, February 21st at 2 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with Father Pierre Thibodeau officiating, assisted by Father Frederic Poitras, Father Lucien Levesque and Father Roland Poitras. The pallbearers were Gilles Gagnon Jr., Michel Gagnon, Miguel Gagnon, Danny Gagnon, Marie-Eve Gagnon and Josée Gagnon. Interment was in the Assumption Cemetery. Arrangements were by O'Regan's Funeral Home, Grand Falls.www.oregans.ca
