About Aury Cronkhite

Shortly after her sister Phebe's marriage, Anna went to live with Aury and Phebe. She helped Phebe with their first child, Jacob, and stayed until Aury returned from the war. Aury took Anna, who was born in 1764, as his common-law wife and by her had thirteen children. He built a house for Anna across the road and just south of where he lived with Phebe.

According to his obituary (see below), he lived alternately, a week at a time, with each of the sisters, and by each he had 13 children.
