In 1236 Avice widow of William de Arderne of Radbourne, who had died in the Holy Land, (fn. 18: Close, 1231–4, p. 248.) claimed land and rents in Curdworth from the Abbot of Leicester as part of her dowry. (fn. 19: Feet of F. (Dugd. Soc. xi), p. 102.)
