Avis Loy Nesset

Avis L. Nesset, 66, of Lakeland, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 25, 1940, in Northome, Minn., to Howard and Mildred (Gerdon) Morrow. Avis was a 1958 graduate of Northome High School and married Dean Nesset on Oct. 25, 1958, in Northome. The couple moved to Aurora, then to Baudette and later to Northome and in 1965 became residents of Lakeland.

Avis owned and operated His and Her Styling Salon in Eveleth in the late 1970s until the early 1980s.

Avis was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, making wedding cakes, bowling, playing cards, traveling and spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband, Dean; daughters, Cindy (Brad Olson) Johnson and Tammy (Ron) Wilson; three grandchildren; mother, Mildred Morrow; sisters, Rosalie Bergstrom, twin sister, Alice (Bill) Filipiak and Penny (Darrell) Buentemeier; brothers, Ron (Darlene) Morrow and Tim (Cindy) Morrow; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Nesset; father, Howard Morrow; and sister, Betty Reimer.

Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik.
