About Barbara Rose ARKWRIGHT
She was born in Erie, Pa. on October 13, 1916, a daughter of the late William P. and Margaret Fries Heinlein. She married Clinton Arkwright in 1942 in Newport, RI. and they lived in Washington DC for a short while. Barbara was a graduate of Mercyhurst Prep and Erie Business School and was an accountant for Lord Corporation for 21 years. Barbara was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church, the Lord Corporation Retirees, and the Mercyhurst Alumnae Association. She was compassionate, a good listener, full of grace, and strong in her faith. She loved her family and being with them. She had been a Girl Scout leader and an active member of Sacred Heart Church, and of a card club for over 50 years, and she enjoyed crossword puzzles and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton; and three brothers, William, Tighe and Thad Heinlein. Survivors include three daughters, Ann Carlson, husband, John, of Bakersfield, Calif., Deborah Lindvay, husband, John, of Erie, and Maryde Nietupski, of Lakewood, Ohio; three sons, Gale T. Arkwright, wife, Kathy, of Rochester Hills, Mich., Bruce E. Arkwright, wife, Kathleen, of Erie, and Christopher Arkwright, wife, Judy, of Millcreek; a sister-in-law, Rita Heinlein, of Erie; and 25 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren that miss her dearly.
