Barbara is listed as 50 years and son Johannes is listed as 17 years old and still single. Joseph and Johannes had a sister Margaret who died in Russia about 1890. She was the first wife of John J. Richmeier and died in Russia.
The first page of the parish church death register includes a listed of burials that were known prior to formal record keeping that began in 1903. There first entry listed states: Riedel, Barbara, 55 years, died 4 Dec 1896, family lot of Joseph Riedel.
There is no headstone for her. Barbara Rome and Joseph's daughters Anna and Rosa are in graves 1, 2 and 3, respectively as shown in the family plot map inset of the attached photograph.
