BIO: Hendrick Zellen of Krefeld, Germany owned land in Germantown by 20 Dec 1685. Wife/s were Maritje;Mary;Margaret. He had children Jaocb; John; Barbara (m. Mathias TYSON); Elizabeth(m.Arnold VAN VOSSEN); Abraham; Anthony; and probably Maria(m. Gerhard INDENHOVEN); Catherine(m. John George ULRICH);Esther(m. John BANCKERT); and Henry. Daughter of Heinrich Sellen (17 Oct 1666 in Krefeld, Germany - Oct 1749 in York Co, NY) and Maritje; Immigrated in 1685 to Germantown, Pennsylvania, owning land there 1685 and 1689; removed to the Skippack community 1713-15; removed to York Co, Pa near Hanover 1732-36; One of 52 adult males on the Germantown tax list of 15 May 1693, he was naturalized in Philadelphia in 1691, and renaturalized in 1709; Hendrick was on the 1708 membership of the Germantown Mennonite church. He accepted an indenture for the Skippack church in 1714 and was a trustee in 1717. In 1714, he owned 291 1/2 acres, probably at Krisheim Twp; before 16 April 1739 Heinrich Sellen had sold his oil mill and moved to Komupanga.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Apr 16 2024, 15:43:16 UTC
