About Barend Koster

The Israëlitisch Oudeliedengesticht was founded as a home for the sick and the elderly in 1837. After some meanderings, the institution served as a home for the elderly on the Claes de Vrieslaan. On 26 February 1943 all inhabitants and staff of the Oudeliedengesticht (home for the elderly) were deported to Westerbork.
