Barent Barentsen van Rotmer

Mathijs Barentsz aka Thys Barentsen Was not his son.

Whhen Annatie’s brother Barent Barents signed his banns at the age of 22, on 21 Apr. 1632 he too was assisted by his mother. At the time Gissel was living on the Schaepensteegje or Sheep Alley in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Geesie’s husband Barent Rottmer is never listed, so it is assumed he died before 1632. 1663 Netherlands departed

Barent’s second wife Cathalina Michiels was born 1612 in Leyden, Germany. Her father was Michiel Christiaenss, Cathalina died in 1644.

Barent Barentsen Van Rottmers (1610-1663) is known to have worked in Amsterdam in the silk industry and perhaps his father Barent Van Rottmers worked in the textile industry there also. Barent Van Rottmers died in Amsterdam, Netherlands in the 1620s or 1630s.

HOLLAND - Barent Swaem from Leerdam married to a Siblia son: Thys Barentsen aka Mattias or Matthys aka…Thys Barents Van Leerdam. Our Swaim ancestors came from Holland to Staten Island in New York in the mid 1600's. A 1990's census estimates there are 5200 Swaims from coast to coast with the majority living in North Carolina and Arkansas.

HOLLAND: Barent Swaem - 1595 Leerdam - married Sibilla (?) - 1599 Leerdam Thys Barentson - (son of a barent)…aka Matthias or Matthys (I hope barent means barron), He has been referred to in some early documents as: Thys Barentze Van Leerdam - Tis Barns - Tyse Barnse and Tiss Barnson
