Fought At The battle Of Quebec- 1690 - /ECN/ Added By Elwin Nickerson II- My Great Grandfather Robert Wixon Accquired Extensive Land Holdings(Eastham) Nauset/ Algonquin Ferderation from his mothers Family. Now Yarmouth -Dennisport Massachuetts . Which were Given to Barnabas in his Fathers will on Record To move His Indian Family to Dennisport, Ma. Then Entirely Native American Land. Native American Name Pompwono. Mothers name as given Alice Aspinet of the Nauset Tribe , Native American Princess. Daughter of Chief Aspinet. Added by Elwin C. Nickerson SEE Below taken from Derrick Wixon home pages about our common Wixon ancestors : from Burt Derrick Wixon Descendant and Cape Cod specialist

All of the Indians on the Cape were allies of the Separatists, not antagonists. By the time that Robert 1 Wixon flourished with wife Alice, all of the Eastham Indians were Christian, as were those throughout the lower Cape, and had their own churches and preachers. Robert 1 Wixon married fairly late in life, and seemed to get along well with his neighbors, but the same cannot be said for his son Barbabas2. Barnabas2 sold out all of his extensive holdings in Eastham to move to Dennisport, which was then entirely Indian land. There is no record of sale of such land to Barnabas2, and there is conjecture about how he acquired it, and from who. The land was in the ownership of one Jacob Crook, an Indian, and was called then Crooks Neck (later Crocker Neck-NOTE- Elijah Crocker- Gorham Ranger- Nawset/Wampanoag)). The family tradition was that he went to live with the Indians. Most of his holdings were left to his son Joshua3 Wixon. We know that Joshua3 was a Quaker, and the issue of "marrying out" (in terms of race) was not one with the Quakers of that time. Indians had as much right of equal standing in the Friends as the English did. It was Joshua who had two families. By his first wife, there was a son Reuben4, who received ALL of his father's Cape Cod holdings. Joshua's second family left with him to settle the Oblong in New York (from whom most of the Wixons of the West are descended. All the local Wixons descend from Reuben4.

I believe that there is Indian blood throughout both the Chase and Wixon families. There is too much family tradition that exists, and too much resemblance to Indians (in complexion, blood type, hair color, and bone structure) to easily dismiss it. For example, baldness in males is almost unheard of in the Cape Wixons, and hair is straight and black, even into older age. Note Military Record French and Indian War- Service In MAINE - NEGHS
