Accident 6. - Occurred at the Calumet mine, November 10. - Barto Benando while filling a car with rock in the 28th level, north of No. 2 shaft, was struck by a piece of vein rock which fell from the stope above striking him on the head and back causing instant death.

An Italian Miner Loses His Life in No. 2 Shaft of the Calumet.

Calumet, Mich.,Nov. 12. - Bart Benando, An Italian miner, aged 29, within 2 minutes of quitting time last night, was killed in the Calumet number 2 shaft by a vein of rock falling on hi m. He leaves a wife in the old country.
