About Baruch Sokolik
Was killed in 1942 by the Natzis, in Slonim, Poland
- ********************************************************** A Page of Testimony was submitted in 1955 to Yad Vashem on behalf of BARUCH SOKOLIK by his surviving sister Ester Piterman, living in Haifa. She attested to his killing in Slonim, Poland in 1941. She indicated that he was born in 1909 in Ostrow Mazowiecka to Yosef and Gital, and that was his permanent residence. He was married to RIVKA, born PIEKARSH, and his occupation was tailor She also attested to the killing in 1942 in Slonim of his daughter RAKHEL-LEA, age 2, “together with her mother.”
A special memorial tribute to her parents and to other family members murdered in the Holocaust was placed by "PEREL BISTRICER, NEW YORK--IN SORROW" in the Ostrow Mazowiecka Yizkor Book that was published in Tel Aviv in 1960. Perel was the daughter of Jankiel Dawid Piekarz and Pesia Piekarz. She also paid tribute to her uncle Aron Piekarz and his wife Pesia, and to RYWKA SOKOLIK (Aron's daughter),her husband BORUCH SOKOLIK and their daughter (Jospa?). The special memorial was included in the English translation of the book that was done in 2013.
