Baruch Wolff was an engineer and had one son, my grandfather, Jonas Wolff, b.Feb 11, 1921, Mannheim. The family was able to get a work visa to England for Jonas when he was 18. Baruch and Mina applied for visas at the U.S. embassy, but their number was in the 14,000's.
In 1939, Baruch was assigned to a work detail in Frankfurt. He and his wife Mina were transported from there to the Lodz ghetto on the transport of the Reich Jews in October 1940. He died in the Lodz Ghetto. A scan of the original document detailing his death can be found in the Yad Vashem Archives. Mina was transported to Auschwitz in May '41. We have no records of her entering the camp.
Their son, Jonas, was married to his wife for 66 years - Ilse Hannah Tuteur, b. April 28th, 1923, Kaiserslautern; d. September 28th, 2011. They have three children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
