notes

  • The Reverend Richard Bourne of Sandwich, Mass. c. 1610-1682, by Lydia B. (Phinney) Brownson and MacLean W. McLean, 1964, NEHGR vol 118 pg 84: "Otis and other early writers state that the first wife was "probably" Batsheba Hallett, dau. of Andrew Hallett, Sr., although Mrs. Ayer calls her father Andrew Bartlett. Since there was no one named Andrew Bartlett at that period it seems safe to assume that this was a printer's error or a slip of the pen."
