Sir John Bagot married Beatrice Malory, the daughter of Sir John Villiers, by whom he had issue, and only son Richard, who succeeded him, and three daughters, Marjory, who married Henry Bradeburn, Joan married to John Curson of Kedleston, and Elizabeth married to a Kniveton. John Bagots marriage to Sir Anketin Mallorys daughter, Beatrice, must also have helped him in this respect, since her half-sister, Elizabeth (whose father was Ralph, Lord Basset of Sapcote) was the wife of the influential Derbyshire landowner, Richard, Lord Grey of Codnor.
