About Bella (Belle) Weinstock Chesler
had the least formal education of her family members because she raised the younger girls
she was a secretary and did years of volunteer work transcribing books into Braille
Laura Vecchione said: " I met Aunt Belle once when I was in High School at our house in Merrick. She was strikingly lovely and genteel in a way that even I (a messy 60s teenager) recognized as special. I was into Chinese food at the time and made the meal. It wasn't very good but she was so nice about it. I have the idea that she was about 90 and making a sort of farewell tour. "
